Parker County had 148,222 people at the 2020 census, and it is by some distance the largest of the three counties we work in. Weatherford is the county seat, US 180 runs straight into it from our shop, and I-20 carries the growth coming out from Fort Worth.

That gives us a wider mix of work here than anywhere else. A Victorian house on a downtown Weatherford block and a ten-year-old house on five acres outside Brock want completely different things from a remodel, and we’d rather say that plainly than pretend one approach covers both.

How far into Parker County do you work?

As far as Weatherford, which is nineteen miles east of us on US 180, and the towns around it — Brock, Millsap and Cool. Parker County is a normal working week for us rather than an occasional trip.

Is Mineral Wells in Parker County or Palo Pinto County?

Both, in fact. The city limits straddle the county line, which catches people out. Most of Mineral Wells sits in Palo Pinto County, and the eastern edge runs into Parker.

Parker County is growing fast. Do you work on new houses as well as old ones?

Yes. Weatherford has a historic district full of Victorian houses and a lot of newer building on the Fort Worth side, and we remodel both. The old ones need more planning; the new ones need the same standard of finish.
